Day 274

This is our new house guest, he'll be with us for up to a year.  He belongs to my BIL and SIL who are OS soaking up some culture for a year.

He's not a horse, just looks the size of a small pony!

Day 272

It's a beautiful part of the world and we went for a walk today around the rock platforms and came across some unusual rock formations.  They are volcanic, but I can't remember exactly how they are formed.

Day 271

It's so nice to just relax and not have anything to do other than get up and have breaky and do nothing all day!

I read the paper from front to back AND did the crossword!  I can't remember the last time I made time to do that, or had enough spare time to do it.

A photo in the house inspired me to take a few different versions of this scene, not sure which crop I like best or if I like it as is.  Would like to get some more contrasting light

Day 270

We wandered down to breaky and caught up with a few of our guests which was great, then packed up and headed off to south durras for our 'mini-moon'.

Day 269

It's official.

Day 268

Our wedding eve and we veged out in Jindabyne for a while, had breaky/lunch at Serge's then headed up to Lake Crackenback for our meeting with our wedding coordinator, Joanne followed by our ceremony rehearsal with our celebrant Jane.  Afterwards  B, my sister J and I walked down to bullocks hut to see if it would be a good location for wedding pics, but decided 1-2 of the bridal party and mum wouldn't be able to walk there in dressed up attire.

It's a gorgeous spot though

Day 267

We'd originally planned to ski today but our motivation went out the door when we couldn't fit everything into one car yesterday so we had to take both.  yet still couldn't fit skis etc in due to the dresses!

so today we headed up to Guthega instead and had lunch at the Guthega pub, we were the only ones there and it was such a lovely day

Day 266

First  day of leave today, picked up my Wedding  dress, dropped Nutty off at the cattery and headed south to Jindabyne with Brendan and B.

We had to take Minstrel's paperwork with us also, and apparently Nutmeg claimed them first....

Day 265

Hanging out in the sun.

Day 264

A delivery arrived today and as soon as I'd unpacked it Nutmeg took ownership of the box as per usual, her fascination with any size or shaped box is very amusing!

Day 262 + 263

This weekend is my last as an officially single person, hard to believe the wedding is only a week away.

We took the time out from life and spent the weekend together, just us with nothing booked.  Pottering around the house, a walk up to the hill near our house to watch the sun set and some other really lovely and fun things.

We both needed the time out from thinking about THE day.

2 pics from the weekend

Sunset - You can see the darker line where the sun is setting is the shadow of the Blue Mountains

Day 261

Nutmeg loves being part of 'the family' when we eat and licking up plates is something she finds hard to resist, especially when she'll just climb up on the kitchen bench and lick it when I"m not there anyway.

caught in the act this time though

Day 260

It's hard to believe I'm so far through this project, I'm over 2/3 of the way there so it's all downhill :)

Tonight we need to find Brendan's suit for the wedding, yes we're still looking!  Taking more time than finding my dress lol

a night in Parramatta should hopefully sort out which way we go ie hire or buy.

This building is Jeffery House and was built in the 60's I believe.  I've always loved it's curves and metal and glass, it's still a contemporary building in many ways, and certainly much more attractive than anything else being built in the area.  I'm not sure what it's used for these days, but love it's beauty.

Day 259

My friend, B, from the UK arrived over the weekend and tonight was the first time we'd been able to catch up.  Brendan and I met her at a nearby shopping centre for dinner.

Day 258

I started my potato plot finally.  I was going to put it in the front yard, but decided the up keep with the gum tree seedlings coming up was too much this year, so plopped it in the back yard.

I love the no dig style of gardening, just add some kind of straw, manure, compost, newspaper and repeat the layers.  I'll be creating more of these in this area and hopefully paths in between of some type of material like crushed granite or bricks, not sure yet, depends what's available and easiest.

Day 257

Brendan had a day surgery procedure today and got the all clear.  Procedure was at a fairly new, 1 year old, private hospital near home.  All very swish and staff seemed much happier than at other hospitals I've been to any time.

Nutmeg and Brendan spent the rest of the day doing this...

Day 256

Queen of the blanket, Nutmeg.

Day 255

Tonight was my 20 year highschool reunion, wow, where has that time gone??

I 'm not putting the photo up for tonight as there are too many recognisable faces in it and I'll leave it for my album proper.

Great night and I am so pleased to be back in contact with people who were really good friends back then, a catch up is already in the pipeline for late November.

Day 254

You know spring has definitely arrived in western Sydney  when you spot the tell tale orange flowers bursting into life.  this one happens to be quite a rare plant, but it's relations aren't and from a distance they look the same.

Day 253

Nutmeg's favourite spot since she discovered it the day after my Hen's (woke up some friends who stayed by playing in it at 6am, hehe)
