Day 305

Halloween, my birthday eve and Lachy's 1st birthday party

Somehow Lachy avoided the camera, but this was a friends baby organising the beer, making sure it was in the ice properly

haha

Day 303

Tonight we went to a local musical society's performance of Guys and Dolls to support a colleague of mine.  She was in the chorus and also played another more substantial role.  In a small production every role is substantial though.  She did brilliantly and the 2 lead females had really nice voices.  Unfortunately the band were out of tune and out of time at the start of every song, made me laugh :)

Day 302

I'm not sure what came over me tonight, when I got home from work I decided to make Marshmallows using a recipe I'd seen in the Dec Better Homes and Gardens magazine!

I was surprised at how easy they are to make, ridiculously easy though next time I'll borrow mum's mixmaster.

Day 300

65 days to go

So much construction work going on in our office building, first level 1 then level 2 and there's so many signs in the lifts telling us not to open the doors on one or the other levels.

Day 299

It's monday again and this date last month we were getting married.  Time is flying!

Can't resist another wedding shot :)

Day 298

another rainy day.... it's been raining forever it feels like.  Brendan and i needed to look at cars and B didn't feel like coming with us so we dropped her off at her folks house and headed out to look at cars.

When we got there the rain was torrential but we persisted looking at this first lot until a sales guy came out with his umbrella and asked us if we needed help.  when we said no, he said "no seriously do you need help?"  I wasn't sure if he was cracking a joke saying we were insane being out looking at cars in the foul weather or just making sure we didn't want help.  He looked pretty funny in his suit and nice leather shoes trying to avoid puddles of water haha

Watching the rain come down..

Day 297

B is staying with us this weekend, her last in Oz before she heads back to her new home the UK.

Nutmeg and minstrel loved having her around and she's the first person Minstrel hasn't run away from, obviously she puts out good peace loving vibes as he runs away from everyone else except his "parents" P+P.

Day 296

Old v's new technology.  We have a bit of an historical display in the foyer of our office space showing products we used to manufacture and our world firsts. I love this typewriter and remember typing on one similar when I was young using carbon paper to pretend to write a book.  I can't remember how far I got or even remember what the book was about but remember typing for days and days

Day 295

My first parcel addressed to me as a Mrs arrived today from a vegetable seed company that foster heirloom varieties and non modified varieties.  I bought a bunch of seeds to start our vege patch (aside from the potatoes) and they are here super quick!

Day 293

more conference today and another mystery location for dinner tonight.  Loving the mystery and secrecy surrounding this event!

We ended up at Nicks Seafood in Bondi pavillion, opposite our hotel and right on the beach, just glorious :)

Day 292

The next 3 days I'm at a conference for work.  Our ultimate destination was a surprise but the day kicked off with heading to the Observatory hotel to do some team building stuff in a conference room.  For lunch we headed up to Observatory hill (pic 1) to meet up with the team running the 2nd half of the day.

It turned out we would be in teams and taking part in an amazing race style event around 3 separate locations in Sydney.

As soon as I heard what we were doing I was excited and wishing I'd worn shorts and a t shirt at the same time as it was quite a warm afternoon!

During the first leg around the Rocks we had 4 stations we had to go to, one was finding the items hidden in a nominated spot, another was using a mystery eye thing to get a code for a locked box to get the item out, and 2 were vastly different food challenges.

The first involved 3 people in the team... One had to eat a tim tam covered in vegemite, the next a dry weetbix and the last had to blow up a balloon until it popped.  I chose the tim tam and it was actually really yummy even though most of the chocolate had melted.

the 2nd food challenge was on top of the Cahill expressway at the lookout and consisted of 3 covered dishes you had to randomly choose.  We went with the middle dish which turned out to be cooked intestines.  the other 2 were chicken feet and half a raw white onion.  So many teams got the white onion, yuck!

Then it was on a ferry off to watsons bay where we did 3 challenges in the one spot, then onto a bus to Bondi with 3 challenges in 3 different spots along the beach and receiving our final instructions to head to the  Icebergs club.  the rest of the pics are the view from there.

Day 291

recovery day  after a big week and yesterday's marathon efforts with the 2 weddings.

Today is my cousin Sean's wedding and I'll put a pic of this into my live album.

We arrived home to find minstrel and nutmeg lazying on the ottoman like this.....

Day 288

Nutmeg striking a pose is some great light as I was leaving for work, couldn't resist!

Day 285

More of the Minstrel and Nutmeg show.  I'm finding Minstrel a challenge to photograph as it's usually night time when I'm home and he's so black!  non flash photography is very challenging with him and I've ditched any hope of flash photography with the G11, will see what brendan's canon or dad's nikon can come up with there.

Day 284

Hide and seek

Day 280

Sussing each other out

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Day 279

First day back at work and I was at an expo all day until 9pm, and meetings and office time all week, welcome back to reality with a thud.

not a lot of time or opportunity to take anything other than a few snaps of nutmeg, so I think this is now Nutmeg week.

Day 278

A long weekend in NSW means we have today off before heading back to work tomorrow, we both wish we'd been able to take much longer and really chill out, limited by my leave though.

It's nice to settle the cats in with us at home for the first 4-5 days though and it's going well.  Nutmeg isn't too sure what's going on but we think she's enjoying having another cat around.  Minstrel looks startled most of the time and is still hiding in various locations for most of the day, though tonight he came out of hiding for some pats and tickles on the lounge.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Day 277

Loving our new kettle P+P gave us for our wedding, love the red, love the funky design and love the whistle :)

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Day 276

Minstrel is still settling in and he's had a few accidents on our rug, but it's all ok, it's the first place he's lived since he was a kitten, so understandable he'd be a little put out and stressed.

After breakfast he has taken to hiding from nutmeg in the hidey hole in the bottom of her scratching post, I'm surprised he can fit!
