Another weekend and we have a bit on today.

BBQ with friends from school I've known for 20 years and then we're off to see Jimmy Barnes at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown, brendan's birthday present to me :)

awesome concert!

Jimmy's daughter, Mahalia was the support act and we caught half of it.  Such an awesome voice and the song she and her husband have written for their daughter is just gorgeous!

Later this night she did escape from a different window, pushed the screen right out and I found her under the house the next morning looking absolutely terrified!

Today was watching movies, chilling out.....

and putting together a new bookcase, which means a box.  For nutmeg this means play time!  Even minstrel joined in and scrabbled around on the box, oh so much fun!

My accidental homage to tequila sunrise's all over the world....  I made this multi layer jelly in my tupperware jelly mould and did 2 layers raspberry and pineapple.

I had a hankering for pancakes with mince in them tonight, so I pulled out a recipe book and followed the recipe (so I thought) and came up with a very thick gluggy mixture, so added a bit of milk (Penny hadn't dropped at this point) to make it runnier...

I made the first couple of pancakes, the mix was enough for 4-5 larger pancakes, and they tasted quite unusual.  My hankering for a pancake had disappeared and I was going to give up when I re read the recipe clearly.....

Milk and something else had been left out.  whoops!  the small amount I'd put in was no where near the qty of the recipe, but I blame the layout of the recipe, it was in 2 columns with 2 headings above the 2 columns.........

 this is a post addition of extra milk pancake, still tasted funny!

Always interesting the art a Dr's surgery chooses to put on it's walls.  This looks like it could have been inspired by one of my favourite  series by John Olsen, frogs.  A previous employer had 3-4 of them in the small kitchen and I loved looking at them and finding new things hidden in them.

More shadows.  I made it to Births deaths and marriages today at lunch to finally get our marriage certificate so I can change my name on all of my cards, passport etc.

Yippee!  Except it was a hot walk and I was feeling quite nauseous by the end of it and had to stop for some icy cold water.

A bit abstract for today's image.  It's a reflection at sunset on our wall, or shadows cast by the trees outside at sunset.  Gorgeous orange light at this time of year (when it's not hiding behind walls and walls of cloud!)

Nutmeg doesn't play as much with us now that Minstrel is here, she's still playful but moreso with him than us, so when she decides we're ok to play with I take advantage of it.

I mostly had it on the floor boards to eliminate shake and for what they are I'm happy with the results of my first effort

Wow, powering into the home straight now, very hard to believe!

Love storm clouds, or clouds before the storm hits, building energy to drop their contents down on us, the play of light and different types of clouds all amaze me.  I could watch them for hours

Rainy saturdays are great, sleeping in lazing about.  Forgot to take the paper lanterns down but they seem to be coping ok.

sorry it's all about cats at the moment, life has been busy and this is all I've been able to capture, variety is coming up next week, so stay tuned!

Taking up position on a bag I'd packed to take to work so she probably wanted a snuggle day at home and is trying to stop me haha  or perhaps it's just super comfy to lie on it!

size doesn't matter,  she regularly "wins" the little scuffles they have, she's definitely the dominant cat!

Lunch today with Kati for my birthday, Yum Cha near our works, it was so good!  I love yum cha!

It's a seriously hard life as a cat in our house.  play all night, good food, sleep all day!

My birthday today and we had 2 cakes at work!  1 purchased by the lovely K and the other made (ahem) by our boss A (suspect his wife might have made it but it was yummy!)

I didn't get pics of the cakes, surprisingly!  they were eaten faster than I could blow out the candles :)

A couple of us were tidying up our store rooms for our department as we'd run out of room due to old logo stock hanging around.

On our way to organise distribution and disposal at our old office we came across these old guys, they arrived a few years ago with broken necks (steel rod through them) and clearly the person supposed to fix them didn't let anyone know they hadn't done it!  awesome!

so they were on their way out and the warehouse guys tied them up as a joke :D
