After a muggy day and driving all over sydney it was nice that a light storm came through as I arrived home and it cleared to reveal this sunset over the Blue Mountains. The view is from our back verandah. You can feel the serenity.....

Day 27
Back to work...... and a quick breaky before heading off to a meeting. jam and marmalade, hold the marg/butter please!
Day 26 - Australia Day
Probably the best Public Holiday of the lot as there's no real requirement to do anything if you choose not to. We chose to have a BBQ so both of our parents could meet and we could catch up with family. Not all could make it as they are interstate or working etc however it was a really nice afternoon (even though it was really hot) and we have a (new) fridge with leftovers.
The aftermath....

Day 25
A favourite photographer of mine from Tibla Tilba/Narooma NSW way, he uses a panoramic camera and infrared film, it's not black and white but it's not all sepia coloured either. this is one in a series of 3 I own and would love to add to the collection however the framers covered the photo details on the back :(
Edit: Thanks to Google I now know the photographers name is Glen Ryan and his infra red works are in high demand. He doesn't print these smaller 350mm long ones anymore though, only larger prints (framed $900-$1200) and for the latest series only 1 offs making things quite exxy (I haven't asked prices yet). So I'll be buying the coffee table book I think or saving up for a one off.

Day 23
43 degrees at our place today, so with no air con we went shopping for bits and pieces we needed like a fridge, blockout curtains for the loungeroom and an outdoor setting. We'd been out all day and around 3.30pm we ended up at Bunnings Norwest to look at outdoor settings. We got out of the car and it was a furnace we walked less than 50m to the door and the breeze changed from baking hot to cool and gusty. It surprised us as much as everyone else, one lady coming out of bunnings looked at us in shock and elation and the 3 of us shared a laugh about the sudden change in temp.
Day 22
home from Melbourne today and my regular taxi driver had an orange juice waiting for me because it was so hot, so lovely of him!
Later on we opened the garage doors to let some of the heat out of the house (33 inside at 8.30pm = urgh) and a spider dropped down from the door and it had a very unusual 'growth' on it's back. Brendan to the rescue with a tupperware container and we scooped it into that while I got my spider book.
Turned out to be a female wolf spider (not poisonous) with her babies riding around on her back, 10's and 10's of them! brendan relocated her to the reserve behind the house by way of a gentle push from the tupperware container (hope the babies had parachutes).

Day 21
Work trip to Melbourne for meetings the next day, the ride in the melbourne taxi was interesting, but when I asked if I could take a photo of him, he got a little unsettled so I didn't bother.
so my photo today is my boarding pass! lol

Day 20
While we settle in and get everything put together I think my photo's will be fairly house orientated and not spectacularly photographed on the run, but memories for brendan and myself in years to come of how we started off in our house.
the dining table, yet again brilliantly put together by brendan and we decided to treat the middle space as a room rather than a hallway (my brilliant idea) so the 'dining room' is now a sitting/living room and the previous thoroughfare room is now a dining room :)

Day 19
Alice and the Mad Hatter, there's a rabbit in there somewhere and a door mouse. Love the whimsy of this teapot and it's now on display in our kitchen.

Day 18
Is there any furniture feeling like the one you get when you put together Ikea stuff and there's nothing left over? Brendan did a great job with this one :)
Day 17
Wandering around the city after seeing the Dobell prize for drawing exhibit, this fence is outside the francis greenaway designed church (phillip st?) near Hyde Park. I like the curvy parttern
Day 14
Nothing spectacularly photographic about this shot (and the next few days) this is moving day, so we're all packed up and ready for the removalists to do their thing.
What a day

Day 9
We're currently packing up to move and I have a lot of stuff (not really brendan ;) ) left at mum and dad's place, so went over to clear it all up (much to mum and dad's delight)
For lunch I made a tuna and cheese toasted sandwich, something I used to do all the time but haven't lately as we don't have sandwich toaster. It was the best sandwich I've eaten for a long while so I just had to take a photo of it for my project

Day 8
I'm taking my photos on my Panasonic TZ1 point and shoot and even though it has 10x optical zoom I have to admit i've cropped this one quite a bit to achieve the framing I wanted and to make the feather the focal point. The original photo has more leaves and webs caught up on the bollard in my parking space. I noticed the feather yesterday and liked the way it was precariously clinging or held by the spider web.
Such a delicate thing, blowing around with the wind.
Oh for a Digital SLR with big zoom lens :)
Day 7
This plant is usually on the kitchen window sill so I don't get to look down into it, now that it's on the table on the verandah I noticed the swirling patterns and liked that it looked like you could fall in and go forever, bottomless pit and so on.
Day 6
I was in bed and realised I had forgotten to take my photo of the day, usually I've taken quite a few photo's, and I took several in this series, Brendan was very patient!. I like the silhouette brendan creates and the light on the wall, looks better in B+W than the colour variations I took.

Day 5
Hot cross buns nearly out of date and reduced before in January. I'm not against them appearing so early before easter at all as they are delicious toasted for breaky :)

365 days project
I have decided to undertake the 365 days project, which will have me taking a photo a day for 365, sounds simple!
So every week I will upload a photo for each day of the week and once a month a photo of me, others who've tried this have said their photography skills have improved significantly and that is one aim of the project for me. However the main reason I'm doing the project is to see how I view the world and to see how my perception of the world changes or stays the same the more I'm encouraged to look around me (in the need for a photo a day).
I started taking pics on New Years day and will finish on New Years Eve.
